January 1, 2010, Newsletter Issue #16: Baserunner Stance

Tip of the Week

Being ready to leave the base, and having your body in The correct stance can make the difference between being safe or out, or getting an extra base out of a hit.
Be in a relaxed stance, with the feet shoulder width apart. The left foot should touch the left side of the bag.
Keep shoulders square, facing the infield and use a crossover step with the left leg and arm motion to get maximum power on the first step.
